General
Name: Killian Samuel Jones
Nickname: Killy or Killian
Age: 18
Orientation: Bisexual
Ability: Arctic Touch - controls the formation of ice/frost and cold
Celebrity: Alex Heartbreaker
Sample Picture:
Appearance
Build: Killian stands around 5’7” and weighs 124 pounds. His legs are muscular from riding his skateboard across town every day. The arms match his legs, yet not as strong because he doesn’t do any weight lifting. His torso is flat and slightly chiseled, showing off a nice six-pack. His skin is pale and quite smooth, conveniently matching its cool feel.
Eyes: Haunting and beautiful, these soft blue orbs pierce everything they stare at. They have a round shape, complimenting the rest of his facial features. They appear as a true blue, reflecting the color of the lake he lives on. He can make someone feel uncomfortable with his tendency to not blink for long periods of time while he stares.
Hair: Killian’s hair is somewhat of a shaggy length, brushed forward and swept to the side. It is bone straight and cut jaggedly. The color changes from his naturally dark brown hair to black every once in a while. It is soft from the relentless showers and silk spray that he uses.
Lips: Soft and pink, his lips are small, pucker sweetly, and are set perfectly symmetrical on his face. They look inviting to the observable eye.
Tattoos/Piercings: He has snake bites on his bottom lip and a small tattoo on the front side of his hip.
Scars: Many of his scars came from skateboarding accidents. But otherwise, he is scar free.
Personality
Personality: Killian looks like a normal 18-year-old hell raiser. He’s lovable, kind, shy, humorous, energetic, trustworthy and honest. But sometimes his schizophrenia gets in the way. The only way to keep it under control is the use of psychopharmacological management. The voices he hears bite at the edges of his thoughts, making him lose his concentration and snap out irrationally at nothing. There are also times when he has a hard time controlling his emotions, causing him to be unable to show any emotion whatsoever.
Flaws: In his mind, he sees his schizophrenia as a flaw. Killian also has a nervous habit of biting his nails.
Likes: roses, his snake bites, skateboarding, sunrises, boys, girls, motorcycles, rock music, scary movies, fish, veggies and fruit
Dislikes: red meat, predators, sneaky people, jerks, math
Strengths: controlling ice, skateboarding, language, coordination
Weaknesses: school work, swimming, not being able to see past his hallucinations
History
History: Killian Jones was born on December 13, 1988, the coldest night in winter that year. There was a blizzard happening outside the window of the hospital and his parents weren’t expecting the outcome. Once he came out of that warm area, the doctor thought he was dead because of how cold he was. But all the vital signs showed he was alive.
It didn’t occur to them until some years later that he had been born…special. Everything that Killian touched turned cold or to ice. It was very peculiar to them. When he was five, he was taught to control his power by a doctor that specialized in mental and physical diseases. Celeste thought of his gift as a blessing, but Roane was resentful. He thought of his second born son as a freak and thought that beating him would solve all things. Nothing like that came from his side of the family.
Killian went through school with his ability hidden from everyone. He became excruciatingly shy, only speaking when spoken to or asked to answer a question. He had hardly any friends all through his school career. The ones he had were obnoxious and loud, making up for his quiet disposition. They taught him how to skateboard and included him when they would hang out with each other. He developed a good sense of humor and actually smiled once in a while…until the voices came.
It was his junior year in high school when they first started speaking to him. They told Killian to do things, to hurt people, to use his power against his friends. He refused and tried not to listen…but they wouldn’t leave him alone. It had been two months later before he told his parents about it, and by that time, his grades had already slipped and he had stopped sleeping. His father had stopped the abuse some time ago, but it started again when Killian lashed out at one of his hallucinations. Roane had no idea how to deal with it; he was not a very smart man to begin with.
Celeste was never home when this was going on, but she learned about it one evening when it was peculiarly cold in the kitchen. Killian was standing at the sink, washing his hands in warm water. It was a small comfort. She approached him and gasped at the bruise that was forming across his jaw. He spilled the truth and cried, gripping his mother tightly. She held him close and assured him that everything was going to get better. She was right.
The same doctor that taught him to control his power diagnosed him with schizophrenia. Killian began taking neuroleptics to help reduce the hallucinations. But it didn’t block out all of them. He still receives their biting remarks and sometimes sees flashes of faces that aren’t real. The drugs didn’t help his social life either. He began to withdraw from his friends little by little until they stopped calling and coming to his house. He graduated high school with no plans for college. To him, there was nothing out there.
Family: mother, Celeste; father, Roane; older brother, Fletcher
Other
Sample Post: He could see the sunlight peaking over the horizon. The sun was rising slowly, bringing light to the world. Killian sat on the roof of his house chewing the ring on the left side of his lip. His white t-shirt hugged his slim body in the chilly morning of March. He could see his breath. The hair on his arms and legs were perfectly flat against his body, no goose bumps in sight. He loved these simple moments. The sunrise made him feel better about his life. It was also the one time that his brain was quiet. He never had a hallucination while on his roof. All was calm and still around him, not a noise broke the silence. He waited for the sun to rise completely before rising to his feet and walking to the side of the house where his ladder stood, waiting for him. Killian stepped down and hopped back through the window to his bedroom. He dressed in a tight pair of jeans and kept the white shirt he had on. He brushed his hair forward and swept it off to the left. He stuffed his keys in his pocket and went through the living room and out the front door.
He drove to school and went to his first class, skipping the cafeteria where his “friends” would be. He sat in his seat and pulled out his notebook, ignoring other kids that began to filter in. What are you doing? the voice said. He stopped mid-sentence. You’re pathetic. It took this to make Killian realize he forgot to take his pill. Why do you write about such nonsense. You don’t even belong here. No one wants you here. “Shut up,” he muttered under his breath. Killian began chewing his nails, a habit he had hoped to break. “Killy?” He looked up at his teacher. She smiled softly. “Here’s the week’s work you wanted.” She set a folder on his desk and patted his arm, wincing at the chill she felt go down her spine. He nodded and smiled meekly, turning back to his notebook.
On the page was a series of scribbles and bad words that making him sigh. He hated this; a curse in his brain. He was going to shoot himself one day. That would solve everything, he knew. You’re such an idiot. His pen began to tap on his notebook while he chewed his fingernails. Go on then; do it. Cause a scene. Everyone knows you for what you are. You’re a moron. “Shut up!” he said louder, slamming his fist on his desk. The few students that were in there stared. His cheeks turned bright pink. This day was going to be harder than he thought.
